| If you've been going out GOLD prospecting and coming home with little or no GOLD then you truly need to take a GOLD prospecting lesson or two. You should be able to go out every time and come home with at least $25 to $500 in GOLD or something is very wrong with your approach to this wonderful hobby. First and foremost you need access to good claims that can provide this GOLD to you every trip. Second you need to know where and how you should be looking for this amount of GOLD. Third you need good GOLD recovery equipment and you also need to know how to properly run that euipment to ensure success. We can help you get access to the good claims by joining the AAGP. For the last couple of years January through April had great weather and so far this year it's been the same so many have been taking their lessons now! UPDATES! - December 2019 was one of the wettest December's in ten years. December 2021 and December 2023 have continued this increased amount of rain too. This unusual amount of rain in December helps to move a lot of GOLD bearing gravels and members who are out and actively prospecting are finding a lot of newly uncovered GOLD out on the claims! We've had less rain in 2024 and 2025, but the GOLD is still out there waiting for you to find and dig it up! Typically, every year in January through May we have a wonderful, warm and sunny beginning to the new year making it great for being out on the claims. And here in Arizona we look forward to having the same great weather every year. As always, many of our Winter members are having a great time here in the warmer sun. After you complete your first GOLD prospecting lesson, you will know where to look for and how to recover GOLD so that you can come home with the GOLD! Any lessons requiring water processing techniques tend to depend on seasonal availability of water in the local washes. Otherwise all water needed for the lesson would be required to be trucked in and an appropriate training area setup for the particular type of water based prospecting would need to be dug, lined, filled and prepared for the lesson at a much greater cost than a normal lesson. We have accomodated this preference in the past with good success. This refers to dredging, sluicing and highbanking in particular. Small recirculation methods may also be able to be taught at a lower cost than these three larger methods of water recovery. All necessary equipment will be provided for your lesson(s) or you can be trained on your own personal equipment should you prefer.
