The AAGP Nugget Fest GOLD Dig is a two-day affair complete with a Saturday night T-Bone dinner and prospecting lessons taught both days. Everyone is guaranteed to go home with at least a pennyweight Nugget in addition to their share of the GOLD split so participants could get several NUGGETS!

Annual celebrations are held each November commemorating the date when the first Cobb & Co. coach left Dunedin for the Dunstan goldfields, on 20 November, 1862. Annual Cavalcades are usually held during the week that contains November 22. This was the day when the first Cobb & Co. coach left the Provincial Hotel in Dunedin Town in 1862 to head over the Dunstan Trail to the lucrative Dunstan Goldfields.
